BitTorrent clients are the most efficient means of downloading large amounts of data. One of these applications, which stands out in a crowd is Deluge. The application is lightweight and fast and the best part is that it is unobtrusive. It was built from the ground to download as fast as possible, without getting in your way. You can let the application work in the background and focus on other tasks, until your downloads are complete.

The user interface has a familiar, but simplified design. Added torrents are displayed in a list, with various details and you can select various filters, on the left side of the window, to display active torrents, paused ones and so on. What's more, the application will place different filters at your disposal, depending on the current state of your torrents or their sources, so you won't find yourself selecting a filter just to see a blank list. You can also find a wide range of information about a torrent's status, files, peers and other characteristics, on several tabs, in the lower region of the interface.

When you import a new torrent, you can choose which files to download, set up download and upload limits and more. You can make the same type of configurations at any time, even while a torrent is active. The application provides many other tweaking controls. You can choose separate storage locations for active downloads and completed ones, customize the interface and the application's notifications and make other fine adjustments. Furthermore, the application's functionality can be expanded with various plug-ins.

Pros

Deluge is capable of downloading data quite fast. The application is lightweight and unobtrusive. Its controls are well organized and easy to understand.

Cons

The possibility of setting up one-click alternative download and upload limits would be welcome. Due to its lightweight and unobtrusive design, you won't notice when Deluge downloads a huge amount of data.
